Alborea Cello Quartet

All four from the CNSM of Paris, Jérémy Garbarg, Adrien Bellom, Gauthier Broutin and Caroline Sypniewski decide to create a cello quartet after having developed a deep friendship at the conservatory for several years and in many projects such as the Seiji Ozawa academy or the Paris Chamber Music Center. Being all four passionate about chamber music and in love with their common instrument, they wanted to explore this repertoire of chamber music and enrich it with their own transcriptions.

The name of the quartet is a tribute to the cellist and composer Francesco Alborea, also known Franciscello (1691-1739), musician of the Neapolitan royal court, and who greatly influenced composers at a time when the cello was increasingly used as a solo and orchestral instrument.
